Role
Senior / Lead / Principal role for Offshore Wind Foundation design. Help support offshore wind projects around the world, delivering the full suite of services required to develop an offshore windfarm including the design for offshore wind turbine structures and foundations. You will join a team with a wealth of experience to draw upon and learn from. Find efficient and novel ways to tackle unfamiliar engineering problems.
Responsibilities
* Perform detailed structural calculations (e.g., monopiles or jacket structures) and work with an international team of steel engineers on project teams referring to the Discipline Leads, Project or Design Manager
* Mentor junior engineers in the required methods and processes to design efficient structures
* Test and develop tools to streamline the design process on the primary steel discipline
* Deliver primary steel design work packages for concept, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed designs in collaboration with primary steel engineers and other disciplines and referring to the Design Manager and other discipline Lead Engineers
* Contribute to and improve the field of primary steel design, sharing knowledge with engineers
* Oversee analysis and optimisation of structural designs through skilled examination of results and important design drivers
Essential Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering
* Experience in the design of offshore steel structures for Offshore Wind
* Primary Steel Structure design engineering for Offshore Wind (Monopiles, Jackets, TP)
* Knowledge of offshore wind foundations, structural dynamics and/or wind loading
Desirable Experience
* Programming languages (e.g., Python)
* Advanced engineering (Fatigue, Dynamics, Wind, Waves, Vibrations, Non-Linear analysis)
* Software packages: RFEM, STAAD-PRO, SACS, SESAM or similar
* Experience working with developer / EPCI contractor on offshore structures
* Design of Secondary Steel for Offshore Wind / Transportation & Installation for OWF &/ Fabrication &/ Construction
* Loads analysis, offshore loading and dynamics of offshore wind turbine foundations
* Management: Package, Engineering or Contract Management/Owner's Engineer
* Certifications from agencies like DNV-GL, Lloyds Register, Bureau Veritas, etc.
* Offshore wind regulations, codes of practice, and design standards
* Chartered Engineer or progressing towards chartered status (MEng &/ PhD)
NB: It is essential to have senior engineering experience in offshore wind foundations.
