Deputy Manager
* Children’s Residential Home Swindon Up to £33,000 per annum Not every children’s home is the same.
* Some are all paperwork and pressure.
* This one is about building a solid team, creating a calm and supportive home, and actually making a difference to young people who need consistency, boundaries, and people who genuinely care.
* We’re looking for a Deputy Manager who’s confident, down to earth, and experienced working with children and young people in residential care.
* Someone who can lead shifts, support staff, handle the tough days, and still remember that relationships are the most important part of the job.
* You’ll be supporting young people with a range of needs including trauma, EBD, autism, and challenging behaviour, while helping to create a safe and stable environment where they can grow and feel secure.
* What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
* Leading shifts and supporting the staff team
* Helping young people build confidence, independence, and routines
* Managing safeguarding, risk, and behaviour support professionally
* Supporting with care plans, rotas, reports, and compliance
* Being a positive role model for both staff and young people
* Stepping up when needed and helping keep the home running smoothly
* What we’re looking for:
* Experience working in children’s residential care
* Previous senior or leadership experience preferred
* Calm, resilient, and able to handle challenging situations
* Good sense of humour and a genuine passion for helping young people
* Flexible to work shifts, sleep-ins, and weekends when needed
