About the Role
Are you at the start of your Quantity Surveying career and looking for a role where you can truly learn, grow, and make an impact?
We’re looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our Building Services team at the East of England Co-op. This is a client-side opportunity designed to help you build strong commercial and technical foundations while working on a varied portfolio of construction, building services, and fit-out projects across our Co-op.
Based primarily at Wherstead Park, you’ll work closely with the Head of Capital Projects, Project Managers, consultants, and contractors to support cost management, pre-construction planning, compliance, and documentation control. If you’re detail-driven, commercially curious, and committed to developing into a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor, this role offers a brilliant platform to do just that.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting the preparation, monitoring, and control of project budgets, cost plans, and commercial records
* Assisting with cost analysis, forecasting, valuations, and variation tracking
* Coordinating pre-construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, programmes, and tender packs
* Supporting compliance, health & safety, and statutory documentation to ensure projects meet required standards
* Coordinating project paperwork and tracking actions across internal teams, consultants, and contractors
* Acting as a professional client-side representative and building effective working relationships
* Actively developing your Quantity Surveying skills and working towards professional qualifications
What You’ll Need
* A degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline (completed or recently achieved)
* 1–2 years’ junior or early-career experience (including placements or internships)
* A genuine interest in building a long-term career in Quantity Surveying
* Understanding of pre-construction processes, cost control, and health & safety principles
* Strong attention to detail and confidence working with documentation and data
* Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
* Competence in Excel and an interest in using digital tools and AI to support your work
* Working towards (or interest in working towards) professional chartership (e.g. RICS) is desirable
Why Join Us?
At the East of England Co-op, we invest in people for the long term. You’ll be supported to grow professionally, gain real project exposure, and develop the skills needed to progress into a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor; all while contributing to projects that support our communities and our Co-op.
We offer a competitive salary, professional development support, a company vehicle, and the chance to be part of a values-led organisation where your contribution genuinely matters.
