Scot JCB Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee IT Engineer to join our team in Glasgow.
This role would suit someone looking to develop their IT career in a busy and growing team, with a passion for providing excellent service. The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in an IT role or a relevant IT qualification.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5pm based at our Dennistoun office.

Key Duties
* Handle 1st Line IT tickets.
* Set up new employee’s accounts and hardware.
* Deactivate ex-employees accounts and manage hardware recovery/reset.
* Develop IT knowledge articles and user guides for IT applications.
* Weekly stock checks.

Responsibilities
Effective Technology
* Allocate IT helpdesk tickets to the appropriate member of the IT dept within department SLA’s.
* Resolve 1st Line support tickets within department SLA’s.
Reliable Technology
* Ensure new employees have appropriate software accounts set up and provided to line manager +3 days before joining.
* Ensure new employees’ equipment is set up and delivered to dept, arriving +3 days before joining.
* Ensure employees leaving the business are de-activated from all accounts the day after they leave.
* Ensure devices assigned to leavers are returned to the IT dept for re-assignment no later than 10 working days after leaving.
Secure
Technology
* Assist with patching/updating employee endpoints.
* Assist with remediations detected by SOC or Senior IT Engineer.
Technology
* Participate in IT improvement projects and change requests.
* Keep knowledge up to date on latest advances in technology.
The ideal candidate will have:
* At least 1 year of experience in an IT role, or a relevant IT qualification
* Good knowledge of Windows 10 and Office applications
* A basic understanding of IT networks, cloud technology and computer security
* Good understanding of modern hardware including pcs, thin clients, mobile devices, and network infrastructure
* Ability to relate to non-IT staff in a productive way
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Driven to learn and grow a career in IT
