Role: Residential Childcare Support Worker

Company: Beaufort Care Group

Location: Ferndown

Salary: From £31,500 per annum, inclusive of enhancements

Hours: 37 hours per week, plus 10 sleep-in shifts per month and overtime opportunities

Roster: 3 week rolling roster to include weekends and Bank holidays

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will perform a vital role in our children's lives, working as part of a team, and being a responsible, trusted 'parent figure' for looked-after children.

Your responsibilities include:

* Building strong, positive relationships with children who have experienced traumatic and difficult backgrounds
* Supporting their educational and emotional development, helping them to heal and thrive
* Plan and co-ordinate engaging, fun activities, encouraging the children's leisure interests
* Ensure a structured, safe, comfortable home environment
* Follow regulatory processes using IT, good administration and record keeping

About you

To succeed as a Residential Childcare Support Worker, we're looking for candidates who are:

* Dedicated to child safeguarding
* Empathetic and effective communicators, able to form trusted, meaningful relationships with children
* Passionate about making a positive difference in children's welfare
* Resilient and patient, capable of handling challenging behaviours
* Proactive and creative in activity planning
* Capable of practical 'life skills' including cooking, cleaning and good home management
* Detail-oriented and competent users of IT, to ensure that every child's needs are met and documented in line with regulatory expectations and standards

Essential must haves

A valid UK driving licence, proximity to Ferndown with a willingness to pursue relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People & Families Practitioner.
