Experienced Electrician – University of Cambridge An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electrician to join the University of Cambridge’s in-house maintenance team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll supervise an electrician and an apprentice while delivering a complete electrical service – including installations, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs – across a large and varied site with significant plant and machinery. You’ll be involved in everything from fault finding and diagnostic repairs to working with three-phase systems, motors, inverters, fans, pumps, control circuits, lighting, and switchgear. The role also includes supervising external contractors, sourcing supplies, and supporting compliance and safety functions. What we’re looking for * 18th Edition trained * City & Guilds Electrical Installation Part 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 3 (2391 Testing & Inspection desirable) * Broad knowledge of industrial and domestic electrical systems * Strong problem-solving and organisational skills * Ability to work independently and supervise others Why join Cambridge?
