Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. The Role
You need to have a live NMC UK pin and a SCPHN qualification in Health Visiting or Public Health Nursing in order to be considered for this post. The Health Visitor is an autonomous practitioner who will practice within the legal and ethical framework of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and national legislation, and who has overall responsibility for the supervision/management of a health visiting caseload, being accountable for the quality of care delivered through robust assessment, referral and communication processes and implementation of evidence-based practice interventions to address need. This includes responsibility for the day-to-day delegation and review of work undertaken by team members.
The caseload size will be determined locally, utilising the national weight load measurement tool as applied to the population of the HSCP within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Derived from the child population within the GP practice/clusters/geographical locality. The Health Visitor will work collectively within multi-disciplinary/agency teams to identify, plan for and address the wider Public Health needs of the Health Improvement Agenda, evidence-based practice interventions to address need.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as the named Health Visitor for a defined caseload of children from the antenatal period to school entry, providing autonomous and accountable practice
* Undertake holistic assessment analysis and planning to identify wellbeing needs, develop the child’s plans, and review outcomes
* Deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway, ensuring timely developmental and well-being assessments using validated tools
* Work in partnership with families using a strengths-based approach to empower parents and support positive outcomes for children
* Lead and contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes, making complex professional judgments and escalating concerns appropriately
* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, sharing information lawfully and proportionately in line with legislation and policy
* Provide clinical leadership within the wider health visiting team, contributing to supervision quality improvement and service development
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
* Registered nurse or midwife with current NMC registration
* Post-registration qualification in Health Visiting or Public Health Nursing with registration on Part 3 of the NMC register
* Educated to Master’s level in a relevant nursing area or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
* Sound knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to safeguarding, information sharing, and public protection
* Experience of caseload management, assessment planning and working in partnership with families
* Ability to make complex professional judgments within multi-agency settings, prioritising children’s wellbeing and safety
* Commitment to continuing professional development, evidence-based practice and quality improvement
