Job Summary
It is an exciting time for HM Land Registry (HMLR) as we continue on a major transformation programme. HMLR's ambition is to become the worlds leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.
HM Land Registry's existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.
We are recruiting an Infrastructure Engineer - IT Security to join our Transformation & Technology Directorate.
Job Description
The IT Operations Practice sits within the Transformation and Technology directorate and is responsible for the performance and delivery of all technical infrastructure which underpins and supports the organisation. It consists of a number of specialist technical teams which provide support, monitor and operate technical solutions.
The Operational Security Teams are responsible for the building and configuration of new and existing infrastructure components as well as the maintenance and administration of these systems and technical security controls, ensuring that the security posture of the organisation is maintained whilst delivering projects, technical enhancements, and key work packages in line with HMLR's security frameworks.
You will provide technical support for maintenance of IT Infrastructure and platforms, as part of a wider infrastructure engineering community. You will have responsibility for the resolution of live incidents or escalation and will support continuous enhancements to live services and systems to prevent service outage.
You will also maintain oversight of the HMLR security posture and the respective cyber security landscape by monitoring Cyber Threat Intelligence and threat advisories for emerging threats and vulnerabilities and will maintain software to support and enhance the security operation.
Person specification
To be successful in this role you will hold a qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent); and or experience in an IT field.
You will have demonstrable experience in a hands-on digital or IT based role, along with evidence of high-level planning and managing technical change.
You have effective communication skills and are someone who can build good working relationships with engineers and other stakeholders. You also have experience of technical information gathering, analysis and problem solving skills.
