Overview of Role Play a key role in the assembly and fabrication of large x-ray tubes. The role will primarily involve the running of all facets of the welding process in the tube production area. The Welder will be responsible the operation of the clean room welding plant and the recruitment, assessment, and training of all welders within the tube assembly department. The welder will be responsible for all safety related processes and compliance associated with the welding process (Compressed gasses, COSH, HSE etc.). The Welder will need to work on a rotating shift pattern of early and lates, infrequent opportunities for overtime to cover staff shortages, special projects and volume recovery The Welder will support the manufacturing engineer promoting continuous improvement within the tube assembly process to reduce assembly times whilst monitoring quality and output. Take responsibility for the training and performance of all welders operating in the cleanroom. Be responsible for H & S of all welding personnel and processes. Be responsible for setting, alignment and welding of precision Stainless steel parts Be responsible for inspecting of own work and those of others, ensuring high level of quality within the work area Highlighting improvements and issues and being able to instigate improvement plans Being able to maintain output of target production. Be responsible for all safety related processes and compliance associated with the welding process (Compressed gasses, COSHH, HSE etc.). Ensure the welding skill base is developed to ensure the tube assembly process is always supported. Maintain the clean room environment to avoid particulate contamination and to ensure the highest possible standards of cleanliness. Review and contribute to the development of work instructions and assembly checklists. Participate and promote production improvement initiatives. Be completely familiar with all assembly tasks in the tube assembly area. Key Skills : Flexibility - will have sufficient knowledge to be capable of standing in for other technicians working in different areas of the tube production Independence - to be able to work without supervision Initiative the make considered decisions and take appropriate actions where required Discipline - to ensure maintenance of best possible working practice within the clean rooms.
