Main duties of the Speech and Language Therapist:
* Independently manage a caseload of adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, including those with tracheostomies
* Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to coordinated care plans by discussing patient needs and progress with other healthcare professionals
* Effectively convey complex condition-related information to patients, carers, families, and team members, facilitating understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process
Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
* Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
* Recent UK/NHS post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
* Dysphagia competencies and experience working in adult acute setting
* ICU experience including tracheostomy management is desirable
