Job Description
As part of a team of highly professional Industrial and Waste Regulators you will play a leading role in tackling a diverse range of environmental challenges in sectors such as Combustion, Onshore Oil and Gas, Cement and Lime, Food and Drink, Waste Incineration and Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* Audit industrial sites ensuring compliance with permitted arrangements, assessing ability to protect the environment, prevent pollution and optimise resource use.
* Use influencing and negotiating skills to secure best practice, engaging with senior industry personnel and local stakeholders.
* Set conditions for sites to continue operation, enforce the law where necessary, and respond to and investigate incidents.
* Demonstrate technical leadership to staff across installation and waste issues, plan, deliver and assure departmental work.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree level or equivalent experience in an environment-related discipline.
* Excellent communicator with pragmatic, solution-focused approach.
* Familiarity with environmental legislation and regulations; experience as regulator or audit of regulated sites.
* Experience with environmental management systems and ability to improve performance.
* Track record of training people and delivering technical leadership.
* Professional membership of a relevant institute desirable.
Additional Information
Base location will be one of the offices in the East Midlands: Nottingham, Ripley, Owston Ferry, Rothley or Draycott. Regular travel to other sites expected.
We support a hybrid method of working where a typical week will be a blend of on-site, office and home working.
Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when necessary.
