We are conducting a confidential search on behalf of a leading international luxury hospitality group for a dedicated Site Engineer. This pivotal role is focused on overseeing the technical execution and quality control for the construction of a major new flagship wellness and hospitality concept in London.
The successful candidate will act as the crucial bridge between design intent, on-site implementation, and rigorous quality assurance. A strong understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems is absolutely essential, particularly within complex luxury spa environments.
Key Focus Areas & Responsibilities
* Technical Oversight: Supervise all site activities, ensuring construction strictly adheres to design, specifications, and UK building regulations.
* Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
* Monitor installations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to guarantee integration and functionality.
* Quality & Compliance: Conduct regular inspections to maintain finish quality aligned with high-end luxury hospitality standards.
* Identify and resolve on-site technical issues early to prevent rework or delays.
* Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards and UK building codes.
* Coordination & Reporting: Liaise effectively between contractors, consultants, architects, and project management to maintain seamless communication.
* Prepare daily or weekly site reports, progress updates, and snag lists.
* Verify materials and workmanship meet project and brand specifications.
* Project Delivery: Support the Project Manager in meeting milestones within cost and time parameters, managing site documentation and contributing to commissioning and handover.
Profile Essentials
* Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
* Sector Experience: Proven experience in high-end hospitality or wellness construction (spas, hotels, resorts or restaurants).
* Technical Knowledge: Solid knowledge of MEP systems, waterproofing, luxury finishes, specific equipment integration.
* Skills: Strong attention to detail, site discipline, and professional communication skills.
* Preference: Experience working with fit-out contractors or luxury developers is preferred.
