My client, a leading specialist insurer based in Brighton are seeking a Property and Casualty Underwriter to join their team. In this role, the selected candidate will play a critical part in assessing and underwriting property and casualty insurance risks, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and underwrite property and casualty insurance risks in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and policies.
Analyse submission documents, including applications, loss history, and risk assessments, to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
Handling all larger level risk circa £10,000 GWP and above
Collaborate with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions of insurance contracts.
Conduct thorough risk assessments and utilise underwriting tools and techniques to make informed underwriting decision’s and manage the performance of assigned book of business, including renewal retention and new business production.
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting property and casualty insurance.
Requirements:
Previous experience in property and casualty underwriting
Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.
