Henley House provides accommodation and recovery-focused support for adults with mental health challenges, neurodiversity, or experiences of trauma. Many residents are transitioning from hospital or other settings, and the service is designed to help them develop independence, stability, and confidence within a safe, supportive environment.
Support is tailored, strengths-based, and grounded in trauma‑informed principles.
✨ What You’ll Be Doing
As a Support Worker, you will be a key part of daily life at Henley House, helping residents feel safe, empowered, and included. Your responsibilities include:
* Facilitating a person‑centred service and promoting independence.
* Completing dynamic risk assessments and co‑producing individual support plans.
* Supporting residents with wellbeing, daily living skills, and community integration.
* Appropriately managing risk and maintaining a safe environment.
* Using therapeutic de‑escalation and crisis‑intervention techniques when needed.
* Encouraging participation, involvement, and engagement in meaningful activities.
* Ensuring clear, accurate record‑keeping in line with policies and procedures.
* Working day and evening shifts only, including weekend shifts as part of a rolling rota to ensure consistent support.
Essential Skills
🌼 What We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates will be:
* Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting people with mental health needs.
* Skilled in addressing and challenging inappropriate or negative behaviours constructively.
* Experienced in therapeutic de‑escalation or crisis response, or open to learning.
* Able to respond to changing needs and manage time effectively.
* Confident using Microsoft Office and maintaining accurate documentation.
Desirable:
* Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions in accommodation or community‑based settings.
