Senior Product Engineer / Lead Project Engineer / Project Engineer
Job Purpose
To provide technical execution/leadership demonstrating subject matter expertise in products, projects, and processes across the engineering lifecycle.
Job Description
* Ownership and responsibility for multiple products/projects, managing and delegating tasks locally and globally (e.g., Poland, India) and reporting progress to Project Managers and Engineering Managers.
* Planning and presentation of design solutions at formal design reviews internally and at customer meetings.
* Creation, review and approval of technical documentation required for internal and external customers throughout the value stream.
* Engineering support for internal and external customers through collaboration across business functions (Project Management, Planning, Quality, Sourcing & Procurement, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing).
* Identification and leadership of lean process and product development improvements through lessons learned, root cause analysis and other continuous improvement methods used within the SDS Engineering function.
Essential Skills
* Demonstrated aptitude in Mechanical Engineering and ability to apply engineering skills throughout the product life cycle.
* Proficiency working with engineering product databases, business ERP systems, MS Office applications.
* Advanced problem solving (e.g., cause mapping, 8D, A3).
* Soft skills to meet increasing responsibilities and experience level.
* Risk management including interface management with other subsystems.
* Coaching other in customer specifications, design reviews, quality matrix selection, part creation, QN investigation, ECN implementation and change review processes.
* Leadership in technical issue resolution across engineering and business.
* Broad and deep knowledge of manufacturing methods used in the business and industry.
* Broad and deep knowledge of company, customer and industry standards.
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience demonstrating successful leadership and collaboration across the business.
* Driving change to improve effectiveness and efficiency of governance processes.
* Technical leadership across a variety of products and industries outside wellhead systems.
* Specialist knowledge of key processes such as welding, NDE, metallurgy, coatings.
* Technical leadership in implementing new or revised standards.
* Subsea product design experience, preferably with wellhead equipment.
* Application of skills for product improvements, improving safety, quality and cost factors.
* Ability to coach others in advanced problem solving.
