🎯 Key Responsibilities: Lead QA Engineer (Manual)
1. Quality Strategy & Planning
â—‹ Collaborate with Product Owners & Tech PMs to understand project goals, scope, and acceptance criteria.
â—‹ Define comprehensive test strategies (functional, integration, system, regression, security, usability).
â—‹ Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test data aligned with project timelines and risk profiles.
2. Hands-On Test Execution
â—‹ Lead and participate in testing activities (manual & automated) across web and backend services.
â—‹ Collaborate with the test automation team to promote shift-left practices and CI/CD integration.
â—‹ Validate defect fixes, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure high-quality releases.
3. Team Leadership & Mentorship
â—‹ Assign, review, and prioritize tasks for QA engineers; remove blockers and ensure on-time delivery.
â—‹ Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and accountability through code/test reviews and coaching.
â—‹ Define career development goals; conduct regular feedback and performance evaluations.
4. Progress Tracking & Reporting
â—‹ Maintain daily, weekly, monthly metrics (test coverage, defect density, velocity, automation rate).
â—‹ Build and maintain QA dashboards in tools like Jira, TestRail, or equivalent.
â—‹ Present concise status reports and data-driven insights to stakeholders, highlighting risks & mitigation plans.
5. Stakeholder & Cross-Team Collaboration
â—‹ Act as the primary QA point of contact for Tech PMs, Engineering Leads, and Product Owners.
â—‹ Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness reviews.
â—‹ Advocate for high product quality and user experience throughout the SDLC.
6. Process Improvement
â—‹ Evaluate and refine QA processes (test pyramid, risk-based testing, automation strategy).
â—‹ Introduce best practices, emerging tools, and methodologies to boost efficiency and coverage.
â—‹ Lead retrospectives to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
🏆 Required Qualifications
â—Ź 7+ years of QA experience with at least 2+ years in a lead/managerial capacity.
â—Ź Strong background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working closely with Tech PMs & product teams.
â—Ź Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr), defect tracking, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
â—Ź Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), APIs, databases, and modern web/mobile architectures.
● Excellent communication & presentation skills—able to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
â—Ź Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor distributed QA teams, set priorities, and deliver under tight timelines.
