Registered Children’s Home Manager
3-Bed EBD Children’s Home – Watford
We are recruiting on behalf of an established residential children’s care provider for an experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager to lead a 3-bed children’s home in Watford, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
The home has been open for several years and is currently Ofsted rated Good, with strong foundations and clear potential to progress to Outstanding under the right leadership.

The Role
This is a key leadership opportunity for an experienced manager who wants to make a real difference. You will have full responsibility for the operational management of the home, ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance and the development of a confident and capable staff team.
Key Responsibilities:

Overall management of the residential home in line with legislation, policies and the Home’s Statement of Purpose
*
Maintaining and improving Ofsted outcomes (Good to Outstanding)
*
Ensuring each young person has a robust, regularly reviewed care plan covering care, education, emotional, therapeutic, cultural and health needs
*
Allocating and supporting Key Workers in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
*
Establishing and monitoring high-quality care standards in line with National Minimum Standards
*
Ensuring young people are consulted and their views inform practice
*
Managing safeguarding concerns, complaints and child protection matters
*
Working in partnership with parents, carers and external professionals
*
Recruiting, leading, motivating and developing a skilled staff team
*
Ensuring effective supervision, appraisal, training and development
*
Managing staffing levels, rotas, budgets, resources and the home environment
*
Overseeing reporting, recording and management information
Essential Requirements:
*
Minimum 2 years’ experience at Registered Manager or management level within Children’s Residential Care happy to consider deputies looking to step up.
*
Strong therapeutic background with an understanding of trauma-informed care
*
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or equivalent)
*
Sound knowledge of the legislative framework for Children’s Homes
*
Full UK driving licence
