The Role
The role of Technical Sales Engineer will report directly into one of the business’s Directors and will have the freedom to manage the patch in the North of England autonomously. With long sales cycles and high order values, building strong business relationships within the franchise network is critical. The role of Technical Sales Engineer will involve:
1. Responsibility for an account portfolio covering the North of England, North Wales, and Scotland
2. 80% account management, including seeking opportunities to expand and develop current business portfolios
3. Travel approximately 3 days per week to meet with clients, including overnight stays as appropriate
4. Managing the whole process from pipeline to order placement
5. Working with the internal sales team on quotations and pricing
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Technical Sales Engineer role you will need:
6. Technical experience in electronic or electro-mechanical components
7. Experience or desire to be in a customer facing position, with strong relationship building skills
8. Ability to travel extensively and stay overnight across the North of England
9. Good organisational skills to manage workloads autonomously and track sales pipelines
10. Drive to achieve and exceed sales targets
