Behavioural & Emotional Support Worker – Primary Schools
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: £ – £118 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Do you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to support children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs?
We’re looking for a Behavioural & Emotional Support Worker to join welcoming mainstream primary schools across West Yorkshire, helping pupils build confidence, manage emotions, and thrive in their learning.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in childcare, youth work, psychology, or behaviour support who is looking to make a real difference in a primary setting.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Supporting children with behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom and playground
2. Delivering 1:1 or small group interventions to develop social and emotional skills
3. Helping pupils build resilience, self-esteem, and positive relationships
4. Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement support strategies
5. Encouraging engagement with learning and celebrating progress
✅ What we’re looking for:
6. Experience working with children with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties (school, youth work, or care settings)
7. A calm, patient, and positive approach
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills
9. Flexibility and adaptability in a busy primary school environment
10. Relevant qualifications or experience in education, social care, counselling, or psychology are desirable but not essential
