Job Summary
We are looking for a new Homewares volunteer to join our team at Oxfam Darlington
The Oxfam Shop in Darlington receives a variety of donated homewares including antiques, china, kitchenware, glassware, pictures and much more. The successful applicant will work as part of a team to ensure that we sell good quality items for the right price. You will help to display and merchandise these items.
This voluntary role involves:
- Identifying and valuing saleable items from donated stock;
- Identifying potential high value items for sale at auction or online;
- Pricing items within the shop pricing guidelines and policy;
- Washing, cleaning, and pricing items;
- Merchandising and displaying stock on the shop floor;
* Culling unsold items after a suitable length of time;
The ideal candidate will:
- Have an interest in homewares and collectables;
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn;
- Be reliable and able to work as part of a team;
- Have the ability to work within agreed shop guidelines;
- Have or be willing to acquire basic IT skills in order to do on-line research;
* Be available to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week on a flexible rota.
