Job Summary
The Junior Payroll Administrator will assist in processing payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to employees regarding payroll‑related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a commitment to accuracy, and a willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
* Assist in preparing and processing various monthly payrolls.
* Ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness.
Data Entry
* Input and maintain employee payroll information, including hours worked, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments.
Compliance
* Ensure payroll practices comply with statutory guidelines and GDPR regulations.
Employee Support
* Address payroll‑related inquiries via Service Now, providing clear and timely responses.
Record Maintenance
* Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee data, timesheets, tax documentation and scanning.
Administration
* Assist with processing employee benefits and deductions.
Reporting
* Generate and distribute payroll reports for management and audits.
Problem Solving
* Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies with a focus on accuracy and customer service.
Essential
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* 1–2 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a related field.
* Ability to handle sensitive employee and payroll information with discretion and integrity.
* Familiarity with UK payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements including GDPR.
* Strong problem‑solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and external parties.
* Strong organisational skills with an emphasis on accuracy and managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Desirable
* Familiarity with systems – Workday, Resource Link, Service Now.
