Reports to: Head of Service and CEO

Hours: 35 hours per week – currently a fixed-term 12-month contract with potential to be extended dependent upon funding.

Location: Remote, flexible/hybrid working will be available

Please note, although this role is remote you must live within traveling distance of Kirklees, for attendance at a monthly face‑to‑face team meeting.

Pension contribution: 7% employer contribution


Job purpose

We are looking for a data analyst who can build data visualisations, perform in-depth data analysis of public feedback and answer questions on data for key stakeholders. You will be required to regularly analyse:

* data from our CRM system
* other data sources
* produce monthly and quarterly reports
* respond to ad-hoc requests for data

Previous experience of working with data is essential. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build & nurture relationships across the business, then effectively advise and support senior staff, with the confidence to challenge where appropriate, based on evidence.

You will be responsible for collating, understanding and presenting internal and external intelligence in a jargon‑free way alongside ensuring that our data processes are robust and efficient. A degree or equivalent in an analytical discipline such as mathematics or statistics, or equivalent practical experience would be advantageous.


Responsibilities

* Capturing, analysing and reporting data within our organisation, using multiple data management systems to help shape decision‑making and inform plans and strategies, identifying areas of concern or opportunity.
* Creating informative, accessible and creative methods of communicating data to a range of stakeholders and the public.
* Developing and maintaining a ‘dashboard’ for all intelligence gathered by Healthwatch Kirklees and Healthwatch Calderdale; this would clearly show themes and sentiment across all health and social care services.
* Listening to and understanding people’s feedback and use this information to inform the workplan across Healthwatch Kirklees and Calderdale.
* Reporting on the findings in the most appropriate and engaging way possible, and in the way which is most likely to influence change.
* Providing intelligence reporting to local stakeholders and contract managers. Producing ad‑hoc reports as required.
* Advise on the design and implementation of engagement and intelligence projects that support the strategic priorities of Healthwatch.
* Contributing to the development of reports, briefings and publications that can be used to influence local health and social care policy and practice.
* Working collaboratively with Healthwatch Kirklees and Calderdale staff and volunteers to ensure that data and intelligence are integrated into all aspects of the organisation’s work.
* Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including the NHS, local authority and voluntary sector organisations.
* Contributing to the development and maintenance of the Healthwatch Kirklees website, ensuring that it is up-to-date with the latest data and intelligence.
* Providing advice and guidance to colleagues on data and intelligence matters.
* Representing Healthwatch Kirklees at external events.
* Ensuring that your awareness and knowledge of health and social care services is up-to-date and that you share any relevant information with the staff team.
* Working with your line manager to facilitate your own personal and professional development through regular supervision meetings, annual reviews and ongoing training.


General

* Participating in other related duties when required.
* Encouraging good teamwork and communication between all members of staff and volunteers.
* Complying with all policies and procedures ensuring confidentiality, equal opportunities and anti‑discrimination are observed and actively promoted.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and accepted safe practices.
* Attending appropriate internal and external meetings.
* Participating in undertaking periodic reviews of this job description for consideration by the Trustee Board.
