Job Overview
The Front of House & Events Manager is a hands-on role responsible for the overall delivery of exceptional member, guest and client experiences at The Fold. You will lead front-of-house operations, oversee community and events delivery, and manage the commercial performance of our private hire and hospitality offer.
Acting as a key operational leader within the business, you will ensure that The Fold runs smoothly day to day while continually raising standards across service, events and community engagement. You will manage and develop the Community & Events Executive, providing clear leadership, structure and support, while working closely with the Managing Director, Operations Manager and Marketing Manager.
This role blends hospitality leadership, event management, people management and commercial oversight, playing a critical part in The Fold’s growth, reputation and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House Leadership & Operations:
* Take overall responsibility for front-of-house standards, service quality and guest experience across The Fold.
* Lead by example as a visible presence on site, ensuring a warm, professional and consistent welcome for members, guests and event clients.
* Oversee daily operations of communal spaces, meeting rooms, event areas and The Hatch café/bar.
* Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure health & safety, cleanliness, maintenance and operational procedures are upheld.
* Manage hospitality suppliers, stock control and service workflows to ensure efficiency and quality.
Events & Private Hire Management:
* Own the strategic planning, delivery and commercial performance of all events and private hires at The Fold.
* Manage the private hire calendar, pricing, packages and processes to maximise revenue and client satisfaction.
* Act as senior point of contact for key event clients, ensuring clear communication from enquiry through delivery.
* Oversee event logistics including staffing, schedules, room setup, AV, catering and supplier coordination.
* Be present at major events (including evenings/weekends) to ensure smooth delivery and high standards.
* Identify opportunities to grow the events programme, partnerships and repeat business.
Community & Member Experience Oversight:
* Set the tone and direction for community culture and member experience at The Fold.
* Support the Community & Events Executive in delivering a vibrant calendar of member-focused events, activities and initiatives.
* Ensure member feedback is actively gathered, reviewed and acted upon.
* Maintain a strong understanding of member needs, behaviour and engagement, using insights to improve retention and satisfaction.
* Act as a ambassador for The Fold’s values, culture and brand.
Line Management & Team Development:
* Directly manage the Community & Events Executive, providing clear objectives, coaching and regular feedback.
* Support training, development and performance management within front-of-house and events functions.
* Create clear processes, priorities and accountability across community, events and hospitality activity.
* Foster a collaborative, positive and high-performing working environment.
Commercial & Membership Support:

* Work alongside the Managing Director and Community & Events Executive to support membership growth, retention and upselling.
* Contribute to membership sales strategy, tours and client relationships where appropriate.
* Monitor key metrics across events, community engagement and front-of-house performance, providing regular reports and insights.
* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability and customer lifetime value.
Marketing Support:
* Collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to align events, community activity and messaging.
* Provide input into event promotion, partnerships, storytelling and content creation.
* Ensure events and front-of-house experiences reflect The Fold’s brand, positioning and values.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* 2+ years’ experience in hospitality, events, community management or customer-focused operational roles.
* Proven experience managing or supervising team members.
* Strong background in delivering events and managing front-of-house or venue operations.
* Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
* Commercially minded, with experience managing bookings, revenue or client relationships.
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Confident using CRM systems, booking tools and standard office software.
* Flexible to work evenings and weekends when required with time in lieu provided.
Desirable:
* Experience in coworking spaces, creative venues, cultural organisations or boutique hospitality.
* Experience developing event programmes or private hire offerings.
* Familiarity with marketing platforms, social media and email marketing tools.
* Passion for community building, creativity and wellness.
