Aspire People are working with a nurturing primary school seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within EYFS and KS1 on a long-term basis from September.
The school is particularly keen to secure someone ahead of the new academic year, with the opportunity to start before the summer break to build relationships with pupils and staff.
This role will involve supporting children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, speech and language difficulties, and early developmental delays. The focus is on creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment where pupils can thrive.
The Role:
* Supporting pupils with SEND within the classroom environment
* Assisting with early phonics, communication, and play-based learning
* Helping to implement structured routines and visual supports
* Supporting emotional regulation and social interaction
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
* Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting SEND pupils in a primary or early years setting
* A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
* Understanding of EYFS/KS1 development (desirable)
* Comfortable supporting a range of needs within a classroom setting
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
