We are seeking a strategic and experienced HR Business Manager to support the Chief People Officer (CPO) in driving HR planning and operational delivery across the University.
Annual Salary: £42,000 to £45,000
contract type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: London-based University
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

Main Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic support to the CPO, offering expert business management advice to shape, prioritise, and implement the annual HR plan
* Track progress against key milestones to ensure effective delivery of Directorate objectives
* Build and manage relationships with internal teams and external agencies to share information and coordinate activities
* Lead the operational rhythm of the HR function, overseeing the HR calendar and strategic planning cycles
* Support senior HR leadership in driving operational efficiencies and process improvements
* Monitor and report on complex HR performance data to ensure the function delivers measurable value
* Leverage data insights to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities, informing strategic decisions
* Promote alignment and collaboration across the HR leadership team through clear communication
* Produce high-quality materials for key meetings, including agendas, briefings, reports, and presentations
* Champion organisational culture and change initiatives, supporting the CPO in embedding a high-performance culture
* Foster strong stakeholder relationships to address challenges, align priorities, and advance HR initiatives
Person Specification:
* Proven experience in HR or business management with strategic planning and project management
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies
* Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organisation
* Experience of using high volume data, preparing high quality reports, briefing documents and presentations
* High-level interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
* Experience working in the Higher Education sector would be advantageous, but not essential
