Research Associate in Decision Analytic Modelling (Fixed Term) – Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Salary: Research Assistant (Grade 5) £33,002 - £35,608; Research Associate (Grade 7) £37,694 - £46,049. An exciting opportunity in the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit (CEU), Department of Public Health and Primary Care.
Responsibilities
* Develop and apply a simulation model for heart transplant allocation in the UK in collaboration with the Royal Papworth Hospital (RPH) and NHS Blood & Transplant.
* Use national data resources to characterise underlying processes; deploy the model to provide economic evaluation evidence for the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and to inform national policy-making.
* Carry out related research in cost-effectiveness analysis or decision-analytic modelling with application to cardiovascular disease or blood donation research, as aligned with post-holder interests.
* Publish findings and present at relevant scientific meetings; work in close collaboration with senior analysts in the CEU and with colleagues at RPH.
* Communicate results to quantitative scientists, epidemiologists, clinicians and scientists; demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
* Appointment at Research Associate level depends on having a PhD (or equivalent); if a PhD has not yet been awarded, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant and amended to Research Associate when the PhD is awarded (PhD to be awarded within 6 months of start date).
* Funding for the post is for 24 months from commencement. This is a full-time position, with flexible arrangements allowing applications of no less than 0.6 FTE; hybrid working is available.

Location: Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart & Lung Research Institute, Biomedical Campus, Papworth Road, Trumpington, Cambridge CB2 0BD, or ~2 miles south of city centre, with hybrid working options.

Qualifications
* PhD (or equivalent) in Health Economics, Health Data Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, or related quantitative subject. Strong understanding of inferential and quantitative methods, and a broad range of quantitative techniques; strong computational skills; experience with simulation modelling preferred.
* Ability to communicate and present results to quantitative scientists, epidemiologists, clinicians and scientists; excellent verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills.
