Role Description
We invite you to express your interest in future opportunities for an Associate Technical Director to help develop our Water & Wastewater Civils team in the UK. The Water team tackles some of the UK’s most technically challenging projects and AMP8 programmes, working closely with prominent water companies and contractors. In this role you will lead Civil Engineering teams across the UK, providing dynamic professional technical leadership and guiding teams to meet client expectations.
Role Accountabilities
* Technically lead and coordinate complex multi‑disciplined wastewater or water treatment/infrastructure projects and programmes of work throughout the design life cycle.
* Collaborate with key clients, partner organisations and supply chain to maintain Arcadis’ reputation for high quality, innovative design and a positive client experience.
* Build and sustain adequate resources for delivery of the project or programme and support strategic recruitment needs.
* Provide line management, career direction and pastoral care to team members, fostering a high‑quality, innovative and entrepreneurial culture.
* Promote a culture that is proactive on Safety, Health, Quality and Sustainability matters.
* Promote a culture of innovation, helping to develop engineering technology and continuous improvement systems.
* Work with the Framework Design Manager and Project Manager team to manage the programme, ensuring commercial rigour, profitable outputs and efficient issue resolution.
* Perform other duties as required by the Client Manager or Arcadis Senior Leadership Team.
* Collaborate with other Arcadis teams to share knowledge and experience across the organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Civil Engineering or another directly related degree.
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and membership of ICE, CIWEM or equivalent.
* Extensive water industry experience in complex design, delivery frameworks or design‑and‑build projects.
* Accountable leadership in resolving SHEQ issues.
* Excellent people‑management skills, ensuring the best talent addresses workload demands.
* Experience of contract, commercial, project and programme management.
* Digital curiosity and/or proficiency.
* Strong communication skills at all levels, working effectively with diverse organisations and disciplines.
* Proven track record of building and sustaining successful teams.
