Matchtech is supporting a key client with the requisition of a Test & Commissioning Engineer for a contract position in Birmingham. This role will involve delivering hands‑on testing activities across site‑based systems, supporting the safe and efficient progression through both static and dynamic commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute assigned testing activities in accordance with approved test plans and procedures
* Undertake a range of testing activities, including functional testing, interface testing, and fault investigation and support for rectification
* Accurately record, document, and submit test results in line with project requirements
* Support testing activities during night shifts and weekends where required to meet programme needs
* Work flexibly across multiple disciplines to maintain project progress and programme momentum
* Identify, elevate, and track defects and safety issues in a timely and proactive manner
Key Interfaces:
* Test, Integration & Commissioning (TIC) and Systems T&C Engineers
* Discipline Engineers across relevant systems
* Construction Supervisors and site teams
Job Requirements:
* 4-8 years' Experience in rail testing within commissioning environments
* Exposure to Light Rail, Metro, or Conventional Rail systems
* Proven ability to operate effectively within time-critical, fast-paced commissioning programmes
