We are seeking a Band 6 Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse to join us on Coombehaven Ward at the Cedars in Exeter. Coombehaven is a 16-bed acute unit located in the beautiful grounds of Wonford House in Exeter. It provides care for men & women with severe mental health needs.
You will become part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team, using your skills and experience to deliver care that supports recovery. We believe that with our help, people can improve their mental health, regain independence, and return to their community.

Main duties of the job
* Assist the Ward Manager in setting standards, promoting change, developing nursing practice, supervision, and audits.
* Deputize for the manager in their absence.
* Ensure high standards of nursing care are delivered to all service users, in accordance with evidence-based practice and trust policies.

Experience
* Experience as a Band 5 in an acute inpatient setting
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
* Clinical supervision and mentoring experience
* Staff management experience
* Mentoring students as per professional standards
* Completion of Preceptorship Programme
* Ability to work independently
* Leadership or management training
* Experience in audit work
Knowledge and skills
* Understanding of NSF Mental Health Act/MH Capacity Act
* CPA and recovery principles in mental health
* Excellent communication skills
* Basic computer skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information
* Problem-solving skills
* Risk assessment and management
* Leadership and supervision skills
* Good liaison skills and managing complex situations
