A unique and exciting opportunity has presented itself at Hadleigh Farm Estate Rare Breeds Centre for a Livestock and Education Coordinator.
The Rare Breeds Centre was opened in and is recognised as a RBST approved farm park and holds the animal attraction assured certification from NFAN. The site is a popular attraction welcoming thousands of visitors each year. With over animals from rabbits to pigs as a Rare Breeds Centre our aims are to improve the genetic diversity of the breeds we have whilst educating our visitors about them.
We are looking for a highly motivated person, with exceptional people skills who will be responsible for the day-to-day operation leading a small team and committed to the development of education and care farming programmes. This is a fast-paced, dynamic, and picturesque environment. The role is diverse, hands on and you must have a desire to work in all weathers. The Livestock and Education Coordinator will be assisting the Rare Breeds Centre Manager with animal welfare and husbandry, able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills and customer service and provide educational presentations to visiting groups.
To succeed in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
1. Experience of working in a Farm, Farm Park, Zoo or Wildlife setting
2. Experience of supervising a team & providing training
3. Knowledge of animal welfare with a range of animals including livestock
4. Ability to provide presentations and be comfortable in public speaking / interaction
5. Ability to be flexible and manage emergency situations
6. Experience of delivery good customer service
7. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
8. Physical ability to carry out essential tasks in the role
9. Full UK Driving Licence
10. Experience of using Microsoft teams
