Senior Buyer – £60,000 + Benefits
Based: High Wycombe area (on-site Mon–Thurs, Friday WFH)
Procurement Heads are partnering with a highly successful manufacturing business, seeking a
driven and hands-on Senior Buyer
to take ownership of the
end-to-end procurement process
. This is a role for a true
doer
– someone equally comfortable raising POs and chasing suppliers as they are
sourcing new suppliers, negotiating contracts, and driving cost avoidance initiatives
.
You'll be joining a well-established manufacturer of
garden and home-build products
(including ironmongery and DIY-related items), where procurement plays a pivotal role in both operational success and strategic growth.
What You'll Do
* Working as part of a team of Buyers, you will manage the
end-to-end buying cycle
: from raising purchase orders through to supplier delivery and performance monitoring.
* Source and onboard new suppliers
– with a focus on low-cost country sourcing (e.g. India, Far East).
* Lead
supplier negotiations
, securing best value and driving cost savings and avoidance.
* Review and challenge existing contracts, identifying
gaps and opportunities
to improve terms and unlock savings.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and long-term value.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement supports business objectives.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience across the
full procurement lifecycle
, ideally in a manufacturing environment within
garden, home improvement, DIY, or ironmongery products
.
* Strong background in
low-cost country sourcing
and supplier management.
* Comfortable with both
operational purchasing
and
strategic negotiations
.
* Commercially astute, with the
initiative to spot opportunities
and the drive to make an impact.
* A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
