Overview
Mountjoy School is seeking to appoint a Classroom Teaching Assistant.
We are looking for someone who has experience of supporting young people who present with additional needs and has a strong understanding of child learning and development.
Applicants must have achieved a qualification in English/literacy and mathematics/numeracy, equivalent to at least Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework, (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 passes).
Certificates will need to be provided to confirm the successful applicant holds these qualifications.

Working hours
* Monday 8.55am to 4.45pm
* Tuesday to Thursday 8.55am to 3.45pm
* Friday 8.55am to 3.35pm
Due to the needs of the school, we are currently not able to offer different working hours from those advertised. However, we would welcome applications from staff who are interested in part time work, subject to a minimum of 2 days per week for the above hours.
Teaching Assistants work for 39 weeks of the year, which includes 5 Inset days.
Salary is paid in equal instalments all year around, including in August.
Actual Salary £18,231 - £18,519 per annum (Grade 4, SCP 4-5)

Keeping Children Safe in Education
Our school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates as part of safeguarding checks. These searches are to determine suitability to work with children and may include social media and internet checks. A person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and share findings only if relevant and of concern.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert and may be adjusted at the start of employment or if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary for the work completed in an academic year.
This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.
