Job Description:
About the role: Foundation Tutor & Study Programme Owner
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring foundation teacher to join our Lifeskills faculty based at our Banbury & Bicester College campus.
The Lifeskills team supports learners facing barriers to education, including those with special educational needs, asylum seekers, refugees, and others needing help transitioning back into education or building skills for further study. A key part of this support involves teaching GCSE English, helping learners develop essential literacy skills for academic success and future opportunities.
Study Programme Owners support students through regular communication with families and one-to-one meetings, monitoring progress and collaborating with teachers to maximize student potential.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher committed to enabling students to unlock their potential and embrace learning.
This is a permanent, full-time role based at Banbury & Bicester College.
What do you need to be successful?
We seek individuals who can serve as role models and ensure students leave with the attributes needed for the workforce. A genuine interest in working with young people is essential.
Experience in careers guidance, wellness, GCSE English teaching, and supporting young adults with diverse needs is desirable. Previous teaching qualifications are advantageous but not required, as we provide training and support for those with substantial experience working with young people.
What Activate Learning offers new staff:
We provide a comprehensive, three-day induction program to help new employees understand our mission, values, and culture, along with a one-day introduction to our teaching approaches.
