The Opportunity An exciting opportunity for skilled Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to join a close-knit team at a Modern depot in Edinburgh. In this permanent role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing rolling stock—rail vehicles—using both mechanical and electrical expertise. Location Edinburgh Contract Type Permanent Shifts Rotating shifts including days, nights, and weekends. Flexibility is essential. Role & Responsibilities As a Technician, you’ll work on rolling stock, performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. Your responsibilities will include: Mechanical and electrical repairs, including stripping and re-fitting components Maintenance of underframe and engine components Electrical testing and fault diagnosis Scheduled vehicle checks and examinations Ensuring all work aligns with production timelines and safety standards The Ideal Candidate We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, who thrives in a dynamic, shift-based environment. You’ll be confident in fault finding and capable of working across both mechanical and electrical systems.
