There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Manchester Division is looking to recruit an Assistant Architectural Technician to join the Division’s Technical team.
The Role
The role of Assistant Architectural Technician will be to support the architectural technician team and the wider business including our Construction, Commercial and Sales teams in the execution of construction projects through ongoing support and timely delivery of accurate architectural and technical information.
Principle accountabilities of the role include:
1. Work alongside senior team members to gain relevant experience in day-to-day duties
2. Support with the production of working pack drawings
3. Support with the development & maintenance of divisional details and specifications
4. Support the upkeep of our Drawing Management system
5. Support site teams and colleagues with information requests
6. Attend site-based meetings / audit as and when required
7. Keep up to date with CDM and CPD responsibilities specific to the role
8. Maintain up to date with legislation and regulations as well as understanding future regulations that are coming into effect within the industry
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
9. Experience of working with Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD is desirable - training could be provided where required
10. Previous housing sector experience in a technical / architectural function is desirable
11. Knowledge of building regulations and current NHBC standards
Qualifications and Training
12. Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a Construction / Architectural Technology subject with relevant experience, or working towards this status
13. CSCS card or equivalent
14. Current full UK driving licence

15. Strong communication, listening, presentation skills and excellent attention to detail
16. Ability to be able to express basic technical information in a clear and concise manner
17. Methodical, conscientious, organised and works to deliver high standards
18. Ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy and effective manner
19. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
20. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
21. Ability to problem solve and delegate effectively
22. Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems.
