As Deputy Home Manager you will be responsible for the operational day-to-day management of the service in the absence of and with guidance from the home manager, ensuring Wood Green Healthcare Ltd.’s continued compliance with relevant legislation. Working in partnership with colleagues in the senior management team you will ensure the provision of a high-quality service enabling individual needs and organisational priorities to be met in accordance with available resources. To maintain a high-quality service working in partnership with colleagues to manage services. To ensure the service meets, and indeed exceeds, the requirements of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the RQIA guidance ‘Essential Standards of Quality & Safety’. To ensure the delivery of safe, personalised services to each individual service user through assessment, person centred planning and regular outcome focussed reviews of services. To ensure compliance with company Development & Training and Supervision Policies.


To ensure the delivery of person-centred care/support services that promote independence, choice, and dignity to empower people to live as independently as possible. To ensure care/support services are structured in a way that provides flexibility, reliability, and continuity. To ensure services are accessible. To ensure the development of robust systems and procedures. To ensure that all new referrals are responded to in a timely manner in line with contractual and organisational timescales. To oversee the co-ordination of care workers across all areas.

To ensure the office is resourced during office hours when instructed by the home manager and to ensure the provision of an effective out of hours on-call service. Service Development In partnership with the senior management team participate in the strategic development of the organisation and assist with the identification and development of strategies for the planning and delivery of quality, innovative services.

To work with the HR manager / Team around staff issues ensuring these are reported in a timely manner.

About The Role

· Continually be assessing the resident’s needs and wishes and develop the service to enhance their quality of life

· Deputise in the overall management of the care home as required and when instructed by the home manager

· Communicate professionally and warmly with visitors including family, friends and external stakeholders

· Role model high standards of care, ensuring legal regulatory and best practise guidelines are followed

· Ensure the home operates within budget through effective use of resource and identify areas to improve efficiency

· You will need to be a visible leader in the home, supporting the operation of a 24-hour business

· Oversee the induction of all new employees and participate in the training development of the team by delivering tailored training whilst identifying staffing needs and planning / supporting additional training.

· Assist in interviews when requested by the home manager and HR Manager / Team.

· Support the manager in disciplinary proceeding when required and instructed by the home manager.

Provide on-call support on a rotational basis and as directed by the home manager

Conduct audits and medication checks as directed by the home manager and responsible person.

Conduct group huddles with the team to deliver essential information as directed by the home manager

Assist in all aspects of care

Complete duties on the floor whilst guiding and coaching the team in best practice

Report accidents, concerns, development needs or any other essential information to the home manager.

Have regular meetings with the home manager

Required Criteria

* Previous experience of working within a professional care environment
* Experience of documentation preparation, reporting and care planning
* A genuine interest and passion for working with people with various care needs and making a positive difference to all aspects of their daily living experience
* A satisfactory Enhanced Access NI check
* A previous home manager or deputy with at least three years demonstratable experience.
* Mental Health related qualification and/or experience


Desired Criteria

* Supervisory experience and/or experience acting as a team leader, buddy or mentor to others
