We’re working with a welcoming and nurturing infant school looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. You’ll spend mornings supporting learning in the classroom, including delivering daily phonics sessions, then take the lead in afternoons by covering classes across Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2 using existing planning. What you'll be doing: • Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 • Delivering daily phonics sessions and targeted interventions • Leading small group and 1:1 support for academic and social development • Covering classes during PPA time and teacher absence using provided planning • Helping create engaging and positive learning experiences • Supporting children with a range of additional needs • Working closely with teachers, families and wider professionals • Championing positive behaviour and celebrating achievements along the way We're looking for someone who: • Has experience supporting children in a school setting • Can confidently lead learning and whole-class sessions • Builds strong relationships with children and families • Has a patient, positive and flexible approach • Loves helping children grow in confidence and achieve their best • Can think on their feet and adapt to children's needs in the moment • Works well as part of a team and enjoys collaboration • Brings energy, warmth and a genuine love of education Experience delivering phonics, particularly Read Write Inc, would be a real bonus. Experience teaching whole classes would also be a big advantage.
