Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Caseworker to join the Traffic Summons Team, based at Ashford Police Station. This is a varied and challenging role in which you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of administrative duties relating to road traffic collisions and traffic offence allegations.
Responsibilities
* Collect evidence from victims and witnesses.
* Liaise closely with reporting officers and carry out further enquiries to ensure all relevant evidence is gathered.
* Progress cases within statutory time limits and keep victims and witnesses informed and updated throughout the process.
* Plan and prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
* Make and receive internal and external telephone calls with confidence.
* Communicate daily with members of the public, defendants, victims, witnesses, police officers, court staff and CPS officials.
Requirements
* Strong team player, receptive to change and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
* Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise workload.
* Excellent keyboard skills and a high standard of customer service.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence in making and receiving both internal and external telephone calls.
* Experience of using a broad range of computer applications would be advantageous.
* Ability to identify opportunities to improve working processes and influence best practice.
Working Hours & Placement
The role offers flexibility in terms of place of work, including working from home. Where home working is agreed, you will be required to attend the designated Team Zone at Ashford Police Station on average one or two days per week, as agreed with the line manager.
