Devon County Council is looking for a Digital Enablement and Adoption Officer to play a key role in supporting the safe, responsible and effective use of automation and AI across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of our adoption of Microsoft technologies, including Power Platform and M365 Copilot, helping colleagues transform how they work and deliver services.
About the role
Working within our Digital & Technology Service, you will support colleagues across the organisation to build confidence in using digital tools, enabling them to become capable “citizen developers” and effective users of AI-assisted productivity tools.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role combining training, coaching and change enablement. You will design and deliver learning pathways, create high-quality guidance and provide practical support to teams as they explore new ways of working using automation and AI.
You will also work closely with colleagues across IT, Information Governance, Cyber Security and service areas to ensure that solutions are safe, secure, accessible and aligned with organisational standards.
What you’ll be doing
1. Designing and delivering engaging training and learning pathways for tools such as Power Platform and M365 Copilot
2. Coaching colleagues to develop simple, compliant digital solutions
3. Creating guidance, templates and best practice materials for a range of audiences
4. Supporting communities of practice and building networks of digital champions
5. Promoting safe, responsible and effective use of AI across the organisation
About you
6. You will be a confident communicator who enjoys working with people and supporting them to develop new skills.
7. You’ll be comfortable explaining technical concepts in plain English and adapting your approach to different audiences.
8. You will bring experience of delivering training, coaching or enablement, along with a good understanding of Microsoft 365 tools and an interest in automation and AI.
Experience of Power Platform, M365 Copilot or similar tools in a workplace setting would be beneficial, as would an understanding of governance, security and responsible AI use.
