Logistics Consultant

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Logistics Consultant to join our organisation on a consultancy or part-time temporary basis.
The successful candidate will analyse our current logistics structure, specifically the utilisation of our commercial fleet (vans), labour and the movement of plant and equipment; and deliver actionable recommendations to optimise operations, improve efficiency, and drive measurable improvements.
Role responsibilities
* Review and analyse current vehicle fleet, labour and asset movement processes across the business
* Map out current logistics flows, costs, scheduling processes, and site dependencies
* Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for cost savings, improved utilisation, and better coordination
* Develop a practical logistics improvement plan
* Provide recommendations on tools, technology, and process enhancements
* Support the development of KPIs and reporting mechanisms to monitor ongoing performance
About you
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics coordination, preferably within vehicle, plant, or construction sectors.
* Strong understanding of vehicle and plant transport operations.
* Excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills.
* Proficiency with logistics management software and tracking systems.
* Knowledge of transport regulations, permits, and health & safety standards.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex logistics challenges.
