Job Description:
We are the Cambian group, one of the largest independent providers of care and education for children and young people. We believe that everybody has a personal best and we strive to show our young people their potential.
As we celebrate our successful opening of our 2nd home at Merida, we are now looking at the 3rd home. An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Newmarket-based children’s homes for Residential Support Workers! We are looking for a caring and compassionate person with the desire to help children and young people, by making a positive difference to their lives.
We offer full-time and bank contracts.
Hourly rates are £11.92 for day shifts (8am-8:30pm) and £14.17 for night shifts (8pm-8:30am). We provide a certain number of paid annual leave days per year.
Higher rates of pay are available for Team Leader and Deputy Manager positions.
You will receive a monthly rota.
This is a 24/7 job, including Christmas, New Year, and holidays, which is even more enjoyable when celebrating with the children! The shifts involve long hours and sleep-ins (which are essential), with hours varying depending on the home location.
You must be at least 21 years old due to Ofsted regulations.
Driving is essential because of the locations of the homes.
No prior experience is needed.
Benefits include a refer-a-friend payment scheme, enrollment in a workplace pension scheme after three months, opportunities for progression (Support Worker – Team Leader – Deputy Manager), overtime paid at x1.25, a fully paid 10-day induction course, an enhanced DBS check paid for by Cambian Group, and enrollment in NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce after six months of probation.
We value genuine individuals who can create a family environment for our children. If you are calm in challenging situations, offer advice, listen well, and show unconditional positive regard, we want to hear from you!
