Senior Hardware/Firmware Engineer

I am Exclusively working with an innovative engineering company based in the East Midlands that's developing the next generation of cutting-edge technology. Due to continued growth and a strong new product pipeline, they're looking to hire a Senior Hardware/Firmware Engineer to play a key role in shaping future products.
This is a fully remote position, offering genuine flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to influence technical direction from day one.
The Role
Reporting directly into the Lead Hardware/Firmware Engineer, you'll be a senior contributor within a small, highly capable engineering team. This is a hands-on role where your ideas matter - you'll have real input into architecture, design decisions, and the roadmap for both existing and brand-new products.
You'll work across the full development life cycle, collaborating closely with colleagues in a relaxed, low-bureaucracy environment with no micromanagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop hardware and firmware for new and existing products
* Multilayer PCB design and schematic capture
* Firmware development in C on RTOS and bare-metal systems
* Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making
* Support product development from concept through to production
* Work closely with a small, tight-knit engineering team
Core Skills & Experience
* Strong background in Hardware Design
* Multilayer PCB Design experience
* Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar PCB tools
* Firmware development in C
* Experience with RTOS and/or bare-metal systems
Desirable Skills
* Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
* Design for certification/regulated industries
* High-speed design
* DSP experience
* Exposure to Android systems
