We are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEN school, providing educational support to students aged 8 - 19. You will have previous experience of working with students with Complex and SEMH needs - social, emotional and mental health issues (previously known as BESD, SEBD & EBD) and complex needs like mild/severe autism and non-verbal You will have excellent behaviour management skills as well as patience, empathy and understanding. THE JOB: · You will be required to provide either one to one support or small group support to learners with a variety of complex needs · Comply with individual learning plans · To take direction from the class teacher and help support YOU: · You must be an experienced classroom support assistant with a good level of experience of working with students with SEMH and complex needs · Be patient and resilient · Be creative · Make learning fun · Excellent communication skills · Have a therapeutic and holistic approach · Team Teach trained would be advantageous, although training can be given.
