This post is based within Glasgow City (initially based at Gartnavel Royal Hospital)
The role of the post holder is to provide leadership and take operational management responsibility for the delivery of inpatient services and all hospital-based clinically related activity to ensure the delivery of HSCP objectives working closely with Community Service Managers and Health and Social Care partners, to maintain links with community based services to ensure that integration is maintained between in-patients and local services provided within the HSCPs
The post holder will provide clinical leadership to inpatient services staff across all disciplines and provide operational management support to Head of Adult Services by providing visible leadership and delegated responsibility for all inpatient areas. It is therefore essential that you are a registered mental health nurse with a current NMC live PIN.
As an integral member of the senior management team the post holder will provide clinical leadership, safe and effective management of the inpatient staffing resource to ensure robust and safe staffing which minimises clinical and non-clinical risk, clinical governance activity and monitoring which includes care assurance; standards compliance; professional regulation; responding to complaints; staff governance; legislative frameworks; national and board policy/guidelines implementation, monitoring nursing clinical activity and workforce issues and ensuring resource efficiency are critical aspects of the role.
Working closely with the Professional Nurse Advisor and senior management team the post holder will agree priorities for the development of nursing and AHP input, and provide pro-active guidance, advice and professional leadership to all staff.
To provide safe, effective person centred mental health inpatient service delivery using a multi-disciplinary approach and aims to deliver quality care underpinned by values and evidenced based practice in an environment that places minimal possible restrictions on personal choice. Responsible for the delivery of all directly provided inpatient mental health services.
