Maths Teacher
Location: New Elizabethan School, Kidderminster
Hours: 40 hours per week
Cambian New Elizabethan School is looking for a passionate and creative Mathematics Teacher to join our small, specialist team, teaching across Years 3–11 in our unique SEND setting.
We are a supportive, collaborative school with just 50 pupils, where every member of staff can make a significant impact. You’ll plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons, adapt curriculum and assessments for a diverse range of needs (including Cognition and Learning, ASC), and work alongside therapists and multidisciplinary teams to support each pupil’s progress.

To lead and deliver Mathematics teaching across Years 3–11 in a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) setting, adapting curriculum and teaching methods to meet a wide range of pupil needs, including Cognition and Learning and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Mathematics lessons to pupils in Years 3–11
Adapt curriculum and resources to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND
Develop practical, sensory and accessible Mathematics activities
Mentor and coach teaching staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in Mathematics teaching.
Develop, coordinate, and deliver Mathematics enrichment opportunities and vocational/life-skills pathways tailored to SEND learners.
Assess, record, and track pupil progress using a range of assessment for learning and alternative methods
Work collaboratively with therapists and multidisciplinary teams to support pupil needs
Contribute to transition planning, including preparation for next steps and life-skills/vocational pathways
Maintain high standards of behaviour management and safeguarding in line with school policies
Support the wider development of pupils, including life-skills and vocational learning
Contribute to whole-school curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
Qualifications and training
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Evidence of ongoing professional development, especially in SEND and/or Mathematics
Experience teaching Mathematics across Years 3–11
Experience working in a SEND setting, with pupils with a range of needs (e.g. Experience adapting curriculum, lessons and assessment methods for pupils with SEND
Excellent knowledge of mathematics curriculum requirements across Key Stages 1–4.
Ability to differentiate teaching and resources effectively.
Ability to monitor, assess and use data to inform teaching and improvement actions.
Creative approach to curriculum planning and lesson delivery
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
