What are level 6 apprenticeships? Level 6 apprenticeships are programmes designed to offer full time work by an employer, whilst supporting progress towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification at level 6. In this instance completion of the apprenticeship will also mean attaining the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Advanced Diploma in Insurance, the industry’s top vocational technical qualification. Completion of a level 6 apprenticeship is the equivalent level as a University Honour’s Degree qualification (although a University Degree is not included in this apprenticeship). Those who complete may then go on to study a postgraduate qualification at university, or a level 7 apprenticeship standard. What does a Pricing Professional do? A Pricing Professional provides detailed analysis of data using sophisticated actuarial and statistical techniques that inform pricing actions to increase volume, income and profit. The resulting pricing actions will have a direct and immediate impact on the future profitability and growth of the business, with key targets to increase conversion, retention and achieve target loss ratios. Typical job titles: Pricing Analyst, Data Scientists, Broking; Client Management; Underwriting; Claims: Operations; Loss Adjusting; Reinsurance; Risk Management; Insurance Product and Pricing; Complaint Handling. By the end of the course, you will have experience in the following, and lots more besides: Technical insurance expertise: – understanding of the insurance market, products and services, able to apply technical and regulatory financial services knowledge to deliver positive outcomes. Building relationships:?Can foster good working relationships and network proactively internally and externally to deliver to influence & gain support to deliver positive business outcomes. Communication: use of range of communication techniques to convey complex information and recommendations. Results Focused:? mastered basic business disciplines, ethics and courtesies, demonstrating timeliness and focus when faced with distractions and the ability to deliver successful outcomes to agreed timescales with high quality. Problem Solving: obtain and analyse information and data to evaluate performance and influence business results. Proficient in the use of bespoke and / or generic IT software and systems to facilitate the analysis and evaluation of data. Innovation: developed a ‘happily curious’ mindset through a creative and questioning approach, responding positively to feedback and change. What we need from you: Expected grade - 3 ‘A’ levels at A-C or equivalent - STEM subjects will be looked at favourably. If you do not already have English and Maths at level 2 (GCSE) you will need to complete this as part of the apprenticeship. Excellent relationship building skills. Fantastic communication skills. Highly numerate and a keen eye to detail. Curiosity and the ability to handle data for analysis.
