Job Description
We are recruiting a Project Engineer to join the team on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role is within the Projects team – Modernisations and Installations – and coordinates activities, resources and tasks that relate to a specific project, ensuring job costs stay within quoted parameters and providing progress reports to the Project Manager. This is a nationwide role that requires travel and overnight stays as needed with accommodation and subsistence provided. The role is suited for an electrically qualified engineer looking to further their career in a project environment. You will report to the Project Manager.
You will
* Conduct project-related tasks independently and support the Project Manager in daily tasks, taking responsibility in their absence.
* Lead sub-projects under supervision of the Project Manager.
* Assist in the preparation of safety documentation (SSOW, SSA, RAMS, Lift Planning); training to be provided.
* Ensure the site team has all necessary resources to carry out the project successfully.
* Meet with the project team (Technicians & Field Supervisors), ensuring each member understands their responsibilities and accountabilities.
* Manage vendor relationships, relaying information between project management and client.
* Coordinate queries and escalations to appropriate stakeholders, monitoring resolution and updating all involved.
* Carry out day-to-day project coordination activities, analyse and improve current ways of working where possible.
Qualifications
* HNC/ONC Electrical Engineering.
* Involvement in engineering projects.
* IOSH qualified (preferred).
* Commercial acumen.
* Willing and able to travel nationwide, sometimes overnight.
* IT skills such as MS Office.
* Ability to work independently and adapt when problems occur.
