Overview
We are currently seeking a graduate engineer to join Consulting & Technical Solutions as a Plan Review Consultant based at our office in Maidenhead.
Responsibilities
The Plan Review Consultant is responsible for engineering activities related to plan review. This involves the application of loss prevention concepts and the in-depth review of technical drawings and specifications for new construction projects, with a focus on the analysis of associated automatic fire protection systems to ensure that designs are in accordance with FM Global’s Property Loss Prevention Standards. Training is also provided in the areas of reviewing construction, roofing, solar installation, and other equipment plans.
The successful candidate will electronically review project and plan information and will collaborate with contractors and clients to understand issues and identify solutions. Obtaining missing/corrected information to ensure timely completion of the reviews while providing the best service to clients by minimizing re-work and project delays is key.

Position Requirements:
Applications are invited from candidates who are educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline with a keen interest in loss prevention as well as from junior professionals in the fire protection industry.
The following experience is advantageous although not essent
* Knowledge of Fire Protection Systems and/or Construction.
* Reading/understanding technical, construction, equipment, and fire protection drawings and specifications.
* Using CAD software and computer-based calculation tools including experience with building information modelling.
* Project and design experience.
The role will involve occasional travel to customers’ sites and to team meetings in EMEA. Applicants will need to hold the permanent rights to live and work in the UK and a passport enabling them to travel to the US for training.
