Electronics EngineerPosition Overview We are seeking a skilled and versatile Electronics Engineer to join our R&D team. This role will support our Senior Electronics Engineer in the development and optimization of our cutting-edge sensor technology, which combines advanced hardware and software to monitor water quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics design and development for high accuracy, low noise sensors. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to both hardware and firmware development to ensure seamless integration and performance. Key Responsibilities Electronics Engineering: Design, develop, and test electronic circuits and systems for our water quality sensors. Develop and optimise PCB layouts using Altium Designer, including component selection and schematic design. Perform testing, debugging, and validation of hardware to ensure reliability and performance. Assist the Senior Electronics Engineer in improving product functionality and manufacturability. Stay updated with industry trends to incorporate the latest technologies into product designs. Work alongside our multidisciplinary team to deliver highly integrated devices. Key Qualifications Education and Experience: Degree in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field. Experience in electronics design for analogue and digital circuits. Experience in the development and testing of high sensitivity sensors or IoT devices is desirable. Technical Skills: Experience with PCB layout and schematic design, experience in Altium is desirable. Strong understanding of analogue and digital circuit design. Familiarity in embedded programming languages such as C/C++. Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, PIC, or similar platforms) and communication protocols (e.g., UART, I2C, Modbus). Familiarity with signal processing, data filtering, and calibration algorithms. Knowledge of wireless communication standards (e.g., Bluetooth) is a plus. Understanding of firmware version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience with debugging/fault-finding PCBs. Using common lab equipment e.g., oscilloscopes, soldering irons, data acquisition systems etc. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute to team success. Flexible Working Hours: Standard Full Time Hours - 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday, Core Working Hours (08:00hrs - 18:00hrs), 30 mins lunch break. Part Time Hours - As per contract, within Core Working Hours. Hybrid Working: Head Office / Field / Home (some roles may be office based). Pension Scheme: Aviva Pension Scheme (auto enrolment). Employer Contributions: 3%, Employee Contributions: 5% (minimum). Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): Provided by Health Assured, available to all employees upon commencement. Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 Days per annum pro rata (April - March). Includes Christmas Office Closure (Employees to reserve 3 days from entitlement). Refreshments: Included for all employees.
