This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a busy Mental Health Act Team with dedicated Mental Health Act (MHA) Officers.
Our MHA Officers ensure the efficient administration of the Mental Health Act 1983, adhering to the Act, Code of Practice, and current and future mental health laws.
They provide a broad range of advice and guidance based on an in-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 to all disciplines across the Trust.
Each MHA Officer facilitates the smooth running of Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers’ hearings, ensuring that the Trust meets all professional and legal requirements.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the administration of the Mental Health Act for a caseload of up to 50 in-patient and community clients.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring the administrative functions of the Mental Health Act 1983 run efficiently and in accordance with relevant laws and guidelines.
2. Providing advice and guidance on the Mental Health Act 1983 to all disciplines across the Trust.
3. Facilitating Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers’ hearings to meet professional and legal standards.
4. Managing a caseload of up to 50 in-patient and community clients.
